• At Eat it Like, it’s all about creating experiences that positively impact the world. We work directly with the providers to source ethically traded beans and make sure the farmers are paid above fair trade rates.

We felt like sourcing our beans ethically wasn’t enough and wanted to give back to the famers in a bigger way.

For this first initiative, we’ve teamed up with Original Beans and a local craft chocolate maker in Ecuador to produce enough chocolate to feed 120 farmers of the Chachi community at the Cayapas River in Ecuador (Esmeraldas). Today, the farmers live in poor conditions and don’t have access to nutritious food. Many of them have never even tasted chocolate!

  • Through this initiative we want to introduce organic hot chocolate into their diets to help provide some of the nutrients needed for a healthy diet. Cocoa is an excellent source of antioxidants and is very rich in most essential minerals, especially calcium, iron and magnesium.

This is the first of many initiatives giving back to the farmers. Join us in being part of the change in the chocolate industry. No contribution is too small. The more money we’re able to raise, the more chocolate we can send these families.
